¡Descubriendo el PARAÍSO en Saskatoon! ✨ Heritage Inn: Hotel & Centro de Convenciones

¡Ay, Dios Mío! ¡Descubriendo el PARAÍSO en Saskatoon! ✨ Heritage Inn: Hotel & Centro de Convenciones… ¡y la aventura comienza!

Okay, let's be real, Saskatoon, right? It's not exactly the first place that pops into your head dreaming of a paraíso, but hey, sometimes those secret gems are the best, ¿verdad? And this Heritage Inn? Well, spoiler alert, it surprised me. Grab your mate, your bags, and your sense of humour, because we're diving in!

Accessibility y ¡Ay, ¡¡Dios!!

Primero… Accesibilidad. This is a HUGE deal for me, and I'm happy to report, the Heritage Inn gets a solid . They've got everything: facilities for disabled guests, elevator, the works. And while I didn't personally roll around in a wheelchair (thankfully!), I did see the ramps, the wide doorways, the todo. It felt good knowing they actually care. ¡Bravo!

¡A Comer! Dining, Drinking, y Chachareando (Snacking)!

Okay, the most important part, right? This is where things get… interesting. The restaurants are a mixed bag, but hey, that's life, isn't it?

  • El Buffet del Desayuno: Ahhh, el desayuno. My absolute favorite time of day, and a must-have for any stay. This place offers a breakfast buffet, which is where things get exciting. There is a full Asian breakfast option as well as a Western breakfast.
  • Restaurante Internacional: The main restaurant, boasting international cuisine. ¡Ojo! The quality varied, some dishes were amazing, while others… well, let’s just say I’ve had better.
  • ¡El Bar! The bar was a saving grace, to be honest. The vibe was super relaxed, great coffee/tea in restaurant, and a decent selection of drinks. And the happy hour? ¡Sí, por favor! Perfect after a long day of… well, whatever you do in Saskatoon.
  • Servicio a la habitación (24 horas): Let's be real, sometimes you just want to curl up in your room with a burger at 3 a.m., and the room service [24-hour] totally delivers. ¡Perfecto!
  • Otros Aspectos: The coffee shop was a quick pick-me-up. And for the hungry, there's a snack bar, a poolside bar.
  • Vegetarian options: Un gran valor!. I had a good experience with the vegetarian restaurant.

¡A Desestresarse! Relaxation y Aventura!

This is where the Heritage Inn truly shines. It is a great place to have a vacation!

  • ¡La Piscina!: La piscina! And the Swimming pool [outdoor]! And the Pool with view: It has to be the crowning glory. They call it a view. The view is… good. I was not disappointed.
  • Spa/Sauna: ¡Si! The Spa is a lovely place, I loved the Sauna and especially the Steamroom. Fantástico
  • Fitness center: A gym/fitness, you can get fit! Nice!
  • Masajes: ¡Necesario! I recommend booking the massage.

Cleanliness y Safety: ¡Importantísimo!

These guys take cleanliness and safety seriously, which, gracias a Dios, is incredibly important these days. They've got the Anti-viral cleaning products, Daily disinfection in common areas, and all that jazz. I felt safe. This is a important value for the guests.

Servicios y Comodidades: ¡Todo un Mundo!

This place has everything, guys! And it's amazing.

  • Business facilities: Really good service!
  • Free Wi-Fi in all rooms! ¡Aleluya! because I need to stay connected.
Babysitting service, and a great Kids meal if you didn't see before.
  • Otros: Car park [free of charge], great for travellers! A gift and souvenir shop ¡ay! and luggage storage.
  • Concierge: they were very friendly!

¡La Habitación! (The Room):

Puntos Negativos… (A Few Imperfections):

  • The food quality: Sometimes not the best.

¡Ay, Caramba! Saskatoon, Here We Come! (Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Prairie) – Heritage Inn Edition

Alright, buckle up buttercups, this ain't your glossy travel brochure. This is real. This is me, stumbling through Saskatoon's Heritage Inn, fueled by questionable coffee and an overabundance of optimism. Let's see if I survive this…

(Pre-Trip, the Night Before… or More Like, 3 AM Because of Panic Pre-Flight)

  • 3:00 AM: Wide awake. Why did I book a flight at the crack of dawn? Panic sets in. Did I pack enough socks? Do I need a parka in May? (Google search intensifies: "Saskatoon weather May.") Suddenly convinced I've forgotten my passport. Find passport. Breathe. (Mostly.)
  • 3:30 AM: Attempt to eat a banana. It judges me.
  • 4:00 AM: Give up on sleep. Binge-watch YouTube travel vlogs, which only fuels the anxiety. Everyone else seems so prepared. I am not.

(Day 1: Prairie Dreams & Questionable Tacos – Or, "Where the Hell is the Saskatchewan River?")

  • 7:00 AM: Finally, the caffeine kicks in. Arrive at the Saskatoon airport, looking disheveled but alive. Small airport is charming, almost… intimate? Way less stressful than a Toronto airport. This is a good start!
  • 8:30 AM: Check into the Heritage Inn. Room feels… spacious. Like, really spacious. Okay, maybe a little too much space. Immediately miss the cozy clutter of my own apartment. The view? Parking lot. Well, at least I am in Saskatoon.
  • 9:00 AM: Breakfast at the hotel restaurant. (Gotta try the hotel breakfast!) The buffet… let's just say it’s a look. The bacon is gloriously crispy, though. Okay, bacon redeems everything. Coffee is… weak. Need. More. Caffeine.
  • 10:00 AM: Venture out! Goal: Find the South Saskatchewan River. Apparently, that's a thing here. Walk for what feels like miles. (Okay, maybe just a few blocks.) Everything is… flat. Like, seriously flat. My internal compass is screaming, and I am starting to get lost.
  • 11:00 AM: Success! Find the river! It’s… brown. But hey, it’s a river! Take approximately 50 photos of the water. Feel a strange, almost primal connection to the vast prairie landscape. (Maybe it’s the lack of sleep talking.)
  • 12:00 PM: Lunch: Find a highly-rated taco place. Tacos were… a little underwhelming. My expectations were so HIGH after the long walk. But, the hot sauce WAS good! Always look for silver linings.
  • 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Meander through the city. Check out the Persephone Theatre. It's beautiful! (Even if I don't know what plays are on!) Spend way too much time in a quirky little bookstore. Buy a book about… something about farming? No idea why, but the cover spoke to me. The book is probably going to sit on a shelf and judge me.
  • 4:00 PM: Back at the Heritage Inn. Nap. Needed. (Also, hotel room curtains are REALLY good. Blackout curtains for the win!)
  • 6:00 PM: Dinner at… a pub the front desk (who was very helpful and friendly!) recommended. The food was fine. The beer was cold. The company? Was the book I bought.
  • 8:00 PM: Attempt to watch TV. The channels are… limited. Embrace the prairie solitude.
  • 9:00 PM: Early to bed. Ready for another day!

(Day 2: River Landing Revelations & Prairie Ponderings - Or, "Could I Live Here?" And the Answer Is Maybe Yes)

  • 7:00 AM: Back to the hotel's questionable breakfast. This time, I know better. Double bacon and extra coffee.
  • 8:00 AM: Check out the River Landing. This is where Saskatoon gets pretty. Beautiful views! The architecture is interesting. Feel… a twinge of sadness that I don't live by a river.
  • 9:00 AM: Walk the Meewasin Valley Trail. It is STUNNING. The sun is shining. The air is fresh. Suddenly, I can imagine myself living here. Perhaps I’m easily swayed by sunshine.
  • 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Visit the Western Development Museum. Wow. Just… wow. This is where I get properly hit in the face with Saskatchewan's history. The exhibits are fascinating, from the history of the settlers to the development of the railway to the importance of the land. It sparks something in me. Feel deeply moved, and a little ashamed of how little I know about my own country's history.
  • 1:00 PM: Lunch break. Find a local cafe in the downtown area. The coffee is better here. The food is okay.
  • 2:00 PM: Back at the Heritage Inn. Go for a swim in the hotel pool. It's… surprisingly nice. The water is warm. No one else is here. Pure bliss.
  • 3:00 PM: Sit in the hotel lobby with my newfound book about farming. Read a few pages. Still don't understand it.
  • 4:00 PM: Contemplate the meaning of life while watching the parking lot. Realize I am probably overthinking.
  • 6:00 PM: Dinner at a steakhouse. Indulge, why not? Saskatoon is starting to grown on me.

(Day 3: Departure & Prairie Reflections - Or, "Until Next Time, Saskatoon… And That Bacon?")

  • 7:00 AM: One last questionable hotel breakfast. Gotta get my fill of bacon.
  • 8:00 AM: Pack. Somehow, I’ve managed to accumulate more stuff. A book. A souvenir keychain. A deep appreciation for prairie skies.
  • 9:00 AM: Check out. Leave the Heritage Inn. Say goodbye to my spacious, parking lot-view room. The front desk staff, say goodbye again. I feel a little sad to be going, and not sure I'll be back.
  • 9:30 AM: Head to the airport. Airport is still small.
  • 11:00 AM: On the plane. Look out the window. See the vast, flat prairie stretching out below. Feel a pang of nostalgia.
  • 12:00 PM: Reflect on the trip. Saskatoon, you surprised me. You weren't what I expected, and you were… good. You were honest. You were real. You had fantastic bacon. And yes, maybe… maybe I could actually live here. Or at least, I could come back.
  • 1:00 PM: Arriving. Back to my hectic life. But also, back with a little piece of the prairie in my heart.
  • 1:00 PM: Miss the prairie and the bacon.
  • **Next time, I will find better tacos, and maybe, figure out the farming book.

(Post-Trip Ramblings):

  • Okay, so maybe this wasn’t the most glamorous trip. Maybe I got lost a few times. Maybe the coffee was weak. But Saskatoon… it got to me. It burrowed its way into my soul. And that, my friends, is what makes travel great, even when it’s a bit messy, a little imperfect, and a whole lot of me. Now I want to retire there.
  • I will be back, Heritage Inn. For the bacon. And maybe, just maybe, for the prairie magic. Until then, Adios!

Heritage Inn Hotel & Convention Centre - Saskatoon Canada

¡Descubriendo el PARAÍSO en Saskatoon! ✨ Heritage Inn: Hotel & Centro de Convenciones (¡Ay, qué aventura!)

2. ¿Las habitaciones están... bien? Porque he estado en peores, *mucho* peores.

¡Uf!

¡Siempre me pierdo! Pero tiene letreros. Normalmente.

Me suena. ¡Espera! ¡Sí! ¡Tiene piscina! Y... a ver... no recuerdo si era *espectacular*.

Siempre dispuestos a ayudar.

7. ¿Hay algo *especial* en el Heritage Inn? ¿Algo que lo haga... único?

¡Uf! ¡Buena pregunta! ¿*Especial*? ¡Mmm... No sé! ¡Ah! Y... ¡las galletas que daban en recepción! ¡Estaban buenísimas! ¡Me comía tres cada vez! ¡Vale, quizás cuatro! (No juzguen. Son mis debilidades).

8. ¿Recomendarías el Heritage Inn? ¿O mejor me quedo en mi casa a ver Netflix?

¡Buena pregunta! A ver... Depende. ¡Buscar Hotels
